Tyler (KETK) — The coolest coach in the country came to East Texas Monday.
Teaxs Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury came to Willowbrook Country Club in Tyler to play golf with Tech Exes.
Last year, he won his first seven games as a head coach.
Then he lost five straight.
But Kingsbury finished the season with a victory in the Holiday Bowl.
He signed Whitehouse quarterback Patrick Mahomes earlier this year.
But Mahomes might play baseball.
The Major League Draft starts Thursday and KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner asked Kingsbury if he'll be able to keep Mahomes from going pro.
"I've been praying a lot about it," Kingsbury said. "Having talked with him, he's stated his position to teams and what it would take."
"He's a tremendous talent and a great young man," Kingsbury added. "We'd love to have him in our program, but he's got to do what's best for Patrick."
