Kilgore (KETK) — Kilgore has become the summer home to athletes from Hawaii, California, Florida, Maryland, Idaho, Washington State and more.
Players from 11 states have come to this East Texas town to play for the Pump Jacks.
Connor Hornsby is from California.
What does he miss the most?
"In-and-Out Burger," Hornsby told KETK. "That's our California thing."
"But they have Whataburger here and we don't," Hornsby added. "It's all right."
What about the East Texas heat?
It's hot, even for Miami's Danny Bolanos.
"It's real hot with no wind," Bolanos said. "Miami is more breezy than this."
Nick Rabat is from Maryland.
"The weather is definitely different than it is in Maryland," Rabat said. "It's really humid here all the time."
Marshall Kasowski is from the Houston area.
"It's funny seeing these guys come out," Kasowski said. "They're not used to the heat."
"I'm helping them adjust, giving them tips, Kasowski added. "It's going to get hotter than this."
