At the time, officers told us the parents beat the 13-month-old with a hammer and bit her more than 30 times.
RUSK COUNTY - This week a Rusk County grand jury charged Baby Amora Carson's parents with capital murder.
In December 2008, 18-year-old Jessica Carson and 19-year-old Blaine Milam, the baby's stepfather, told detectives they performed an exorcism on the Amora to "rid her of demons."
At the time, officers told us the parents beat the 13-month-old with a hammer and bit her more than 30 times.
During our investigation we revealed Mr. Milam was a registered sex-offender and was supposed to be behind bars at the time.
However, officials say a slip-up in the system allowed Milam to be freed months before his release.
No word if prosecutors will seek the death penalty.
