East Texas (KETK) — Strong thunderstorms are to blame for a tremendous amount of power outages in East Texas.
ONCOR Electric is reporting nearly 3,000 customers are without power in Smith County, over 700 outages in Cherokee County, and over 500 customers in the dark in Nacogdoches County.
Swepco also reports, more than 500 customers are without power in Gregg County, over 700 outages in Van Zandt County, more than 200 customers in the dark in Rusk County, and nearly 600 outages in Upshur County and Wood County combined.
KETK is also receiving reports of power outages in rural Cherokee County, but an exact number is not available.
ONCOR says power may not be back on in some areas until Friday morning.
