Watkins Will Stay
IRVING, Texas (AP) - Patrick Watkins will remain with the Dallas
Cowboys for another season after signing his tender offer.
The fifth-year safety signed his original fifth-round tender
offer Thursday. Watkins was originally a fifth-round draft choice,
138th overall, from Florida State in 2006.
Watkins has played in 49 games, including 10 starts. He has116
tackles, four interceptions and 56 stops on special teams. He
played in 10 games in 2009, including one start, before spraining a
left-knee ligament against San Diego on Dec. 13 and missing the
rest of the season.
Still unsigned but weighing Dallas tenders are wide receivers
Miles Austin and Sam Hurd, center Duke Preston and safety Gerald
Sensabaugh.
