The economy is a mess, so it may surprise you that singles are wading into the dating pool in record numbers.
But, they are getting inventive when it comes to dating on a budget.
With companies not hiring and cutting people's hours, men say their pockets aren't as deep.
And women say, no more big presents to impress.
More people are opting for cheap dates such as a local museum, even walking your dog in the park.
Jenna Hagist says, "I think people are being more picky who they choose, because it's expensive to wine and dine someone."
And get this— online personal sites saw a 20-percent increase last year.
They say, high traffic days online took place when the Dow was plummeting.
