On May 8th, 2010 the Gregg County Sheriff's Office initiated a missing person report for 44 year old W/M Jason Neil Vickers who was reported missing by his wife from his Gregg County residence located in the southwest portion of Gregg County.
During Gregg County's investigation an investigative lead placed the missing person possibly in the northwest portion of Rusk County.
Gregg County then requested the assistance of Rusk County Sheriff's Office in locating Vickers in the reported area.
The Rusk County Deputy responding to the reported area located Vickers, Deceased in a vacant mobile home.
Upon the arrival of Rusk County Investigators it was determined that the Smith County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Unit would be asked to process the immediate crime scene.
Rusk County Investigators are currently involved in the homicide investigation. Further details will be released as is appropriate.
