East Texans talk-back on the policy, it's repeal and whether or not it's needed in the first place.
The democrat-controlled congress is closer to fulfilling one of the president's campaign promises: to repeal the military's don't ask don't tell policy on gays in the military.
Retired general Colin Powell, once an advocate of don't ask don't tell says it's perhaps time to lift the ban on gays openly serving in the military.
