Booked on Improper Relationship charges
WHITEHOUSE - A Whitehouse Independent School District high school science teacher is arrested today, accused of having a relationship with a student.
According to judicial records, 23-year-old Ashley Michelle Ochs was booked in the Gregg County Jail on a $75,000 surety bond. Her official charge is "Improper Relationship between Educator/Student."
Statement released by Whitehouse ISD
The District has been advised that Ashley Ochs, a first-year, probationary teacher at Whitehouse High School, has been arrested and charged with an offense arising from an alleged improper relationship with a high school student.
The employee was placed on administrative leave on May 26, 2010, pending the District's investigation of related allegations.
Student safety and well being is of utmost concern to the District. District policy expressly prohibits improper relationships between employees and students, and a proven violation of that policy is good cause for termination of employment.
The District will continue to investigate the allegations and take such further action as warranted.
