MURFREESBORO, Tn. - A deadly batch of storms cut a path of destruction across parts of the South Friday.
In Tennessee, at least two were killed.
More than one tornado was reported to have touched down in Murfreesboro, Tennessee Friday afternoon...
This weather system made its first impact Thursday night in Mena, Arkansas.
Authorities say high winds and hail the size of apples came quickly seriously damaging more than one hundred homes and nearly a dozen businesses.
"This huge hail shows up, and this roaring sound.//It popped it like a plum! first as it hit the wall, and then as it hit those inner windows, the pressure was intense and just everything went wham!" Craig Sanders says.
In all, three died in Mena, Arkansas, and more than thirty were injured.
A survey of the extensive damage suggests the town was hit by a twister packing winds of 136 miles per hour.
The cleanup is underway today.
It's estimated some 600 homes were damaged or destroyed.
