The Jacksonville Police Department confirms the Payless Shoe Source robber was arrested at about 1:15 p.m..
Authorities say the alleged suspect John Robert Nichols was driving on Highway 79 when he was caught by the Anderson County Sheriff's Department.
Nichols is charged with robbery.
No bond has been set.

Jacksonville police are currently searching for a man who robbed a Payless Shoe Source around 11:35 a.m...
The robber allegedly pointed a silver revolver at a clerk and took money from the register.
Authorities describe the man as a white with wavy brown hair, late 30s or early 40s. wearing a white shirt, white jacket and blue pants, not blue jeans. They say his clothing was very dirty and possibly left on a black older model motorcycle with an American flag on the gas tank and red and white stripes on the fenders.
No injuries have been reported.
