NORTH KOREA - North Korea fired a rocket over Japan today, defying Washington, Tokyo and others who suspect the launch was a cover for a test of its long-range missile technology.
North Korean state television confirmed the launch in a national news broadcast today, describing the event as a "successful satellite launch."
It claimed the satellite successfully entered Earth's orbit.
The United States and South Korea are disputing those claims, however, saying the rocket never reached orbit it just fell in the waters between Korea and Japan, and other parts are in the Pacific Ocean.
Congressman Louie Gohmert stopped by KETK to tell us what he thinks about North Korea's missile launch.
