Jury finds Pittman guilty

TYLER - The defense for Dennis Boyd Pittman will file a motion for a new trial and plans to appeal.

TYLER - A Smith County jury sentenced Dennis Boyd Pittman to life prison.

TYLER - The jury is deliberating Pittman's sentence.
TYLER - A Smith County jury finds 47-year-old Dennis Boyd Pittman guilty of engaging in organized criminal activity. The verdict was issued just before 3 p.m. Now the sentencing phase begins.
Pittman was one of several people accused of being a part of an alleged swinger's club abusing children in Mineola.
He could face anywhere from five years to life in prison.
On Wednesday, Judge Jack Skeen Jr. granted the prosecution a motion to sequester the jury. There was concern about media coverage and testimony outside the presence of jurors.
In June, an appeals court overturned convictions of two other men. New trials were ordered for Patrick "Booger Red" Kelly and Jamie Pittman.
