On August 10, 2010, at approximately 6:00 p.m. The Tyler Police Department received information that a vehicle stolen in an overnight robbery was seen driving in the area of Greenbriar Road and Coleman Street in rural Smith County.
Officers of the Tyler Police Department proceeded to the area where the vehicle, a white Mercury was spotted. The driver of the vehicle attempted to evade officers driving back into the city where the vehicle pursuit terminated at the Sonic Drive-In located at Highway 64 West and Loop 323. The driver was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.
A black male, Justin Arps was arrested for two counts of aggravated robbery and evading arrest or detention.
Arps was booked into the Smith County Jail.
