TYLER - A new school year is less than 24-hours away.
For parents taking their kids in the morning, there are some new school zones and new rules when driving through them you need to know about.
Starting Monday at John Tyler High School near West Loop 323, a speed zone will go into effect between 8 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. and also between 4 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.
The same times for the school zone on South Donnybrook by Robert E Lee High School.
A new speed limit of 35 miles per hour is in front of Jones Boshears Elementary off West Front Street.
Plus in each of those school zones you're forbidden from talking on your cell phone.
School crossing guards will also be out. Sgt. Bill Goecking says they are city employees just like police, you'll be ticketed for not following rules.
