Haz-mat calls and collisions on the list.
The Daily Progress is reporting Cherokee County volunteer fire departments will now charge fees for hazardous material incidents or motor vehicle accidents based on what department officials feel is a reasonable amount.
County Judge Chris Davis said this change will financially help departments over the prior method, which was in place before the Monday Cherokee County Commissioners Court meeting, when commissioners made a change.
Judge Davis told the paper: "This will allow departments to collect a reasonable sum from the incident person in question instead of up to $100."
