Henderson City Council approved its 2011 budget Tuesday night with a 3-2 vote. The council also approved the city's tax rate with unanimous vote.
Henderson kept its tax rate at $.5217 per $100 of total appraised property value this is the 11th year the city has stayed with this rate, according to Henderson City Manager Mike Barrow.
Property owners will pay .08 cents more than last year, because property values went up slightly. In 2011, a person who owns a $100,000 home in Henderson will pay $521.70, before any exemptions. Henderson will raise .015 percent more in tax revenue in 2011 because of new business construction.
