TYLER - Drowning is the second cause of childhood deaths in the nation.
That's why the Red Cross is offering a free "Learn to Swim" program in Tyler this summer.
Red Cross officials say the program has been around for sometime, and they want East Texans to take advantage of it.
"We have done free learn to swim program for decades...its part of our service to the community and helping people prevent..prepare for emergencies..and being safe in the water," Tammy Prater says.
Each session runs about two weeks from Tuesday through Friday.
There are spots available, but sessions have already begun.
