A University of Iowa football player is recovering after a terrifying motorcycle accident.
The Monday morning crash was caught on tape.
Josh Koeppel, a center for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, was riding his motorcycle around 7:25 Monday morning when the driver of a pick-up truck made a left turn in front of him.
Koeppel struck the truck and was sent flying head-over-heels.
Officers say Koeppel got right up after the accident and was talking to them.
He was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The other driver was cited with failure to yield.
The Iowa City police department did not originally release the dash cam video of the accident.
Sgt. Denise Brotherton says an investigation has been launched into who leaked the dash cam video to another media outlet.
The police department provided an authorized copy to NBC affiliate KWWL.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said Koeppel will likely miss Saturday's season opener.
Ferentz says Koeppel was fortunate to walk away with just scrapes and soreness, and he's hopeful Koeppel will return to action soon.
