"Country for our Country" benefit concert
TYLER - It was country music and patriotism in Tyler on September 11th.
The annual "Country for our Country" benefit concert kicked off on Saturday night honoring wounded warriors here in East Texas.
After troops 'dropped in' so to speak from the sky, local warrior and author Marcus Luttrell was awarded a $20,000 check that will go towards a ranch for recovering local troops. Also, a Vietnam vet whose Purple Heart was at one time lost in the mail, finally received his proper decoration.
All proceeds for the "Country for our Country" benefit concert go to educating local wounded soldiers.
Also at the event at Villa Di Felicita, a family was presented with a home from the Military Warrior Support Foundation.
