DALLAS (AP) - A male robbery suspect shot with a Taser while trying to flee a Dallas police officer on foot has died at a Dallas hospital.
A police statement says the officers were answering a robbery call about 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the South Oak Cliff section of southwest Dallas when they spotted a man matching their suspect's description. When the officers confronted the suspect, the man fled on foot. According to the police statement, an officer shot the man
with a Taser dart, subduing him.
The officers called emergency medical technicians to treat the man, who was taken to Methodist Central Hospital and pronounced dead at 1:05 p.m. Sunday. Police haven't released the man's identity, but The Dallas
Morning News reports that an internal investigation has begun.
