Family awarded large settlement
OVERTON - Last year, 10-year-old Justin Clinton was on his way to a friend's house in Overton to skateboard when he was mauled and killed by 2 dogs.
Atleast one of the dogs was a pit bull mix. A new verdict allows for a $7 Million settlement from the owner of the dogs. So the family is pleased with the decision, but Justin's aunt, Pam Ford says that it's not the money that's important to them - it's the lesson learned.
"Thats not what this family was after. It was to let people know that if they have these types of dogs, they have to be responsible for them and they have to contain them properly," Ford said.
