After the 2010 Census Bureau's report was released, it was reported the nation's poverty rate now sits at 15%. That's the highest it's been in the 50 years the government has been keeping track.
44 million Americans live below the poverty line; the poverty line is measured by a family of four making at or below $23,000 a year.
