GARLAND, Texas (AP) - Police in the Dallas suburb of Garland are investigating the shooting of a youth pastor inside a church. KRLD radio reported that the pastor was hospitalized with wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Witness told police that a man walked up to the pastor during a regular youth meeting about 9:30 p.m. Friday at Walnut Park Asamblea De Dios church. The man said something to the pastor, then shot at him. He pointed a pistol at another person but did not fire.
Police say they took a 20-year-old man into custody several blocks away and found a handgun they believed was used in the shooting.
