She claims Davis violated Texas Election Code
Jacksonville---The Daily Progress is reporting; Democrat candidate for Cherokee County Judge Marlene Jowell filed a sworn complaint with the Texas Ethics Commission claiming her opponent, Judge Chris Davis, violated Texas Election Code.
Jowell delivered a copy of the complaint to the Daily Progress.
Jowell’s complaint refers to advocacy advertising that appeared on the front of Oct. 17’s Daily Progress and Oct. 20’s Cherokeean Herald — stickers stating “Re-Elect Chris Davis County Judge”.
Jowell maintains Judge Davis sponsored and paid for advocacy advertising she claims does not contain the mandatory and required political disclosures.
Jowell told the Daily Progress; the judge's actions were a violation of Title 15 of the Election Code.
