JISD hopes new method attracts more voters
Jacksonville---The Daily Progress is reporting Jacksonville Independent School District is hoping a unique way of reaching voters could help with the district's bond election.
JISD is using what's called; a travelling ballot box.
The Secretary of State's office says the boxes aren't unique to this election.
Voters will also get the chance to cast their ballots at East Side, Joe Wright and Fred Douglass elementaries this week.
JISD Superintendent Dr. Joe Wardell told the Daily Progress; the district's decision was a matter of convenience for Jacksonville voters.
JISD has held polling places at Nichols Intermediate School during TAKSâNight, a Jacksonville High School choir concert, and the homecoming game at the Tomato Bowl Friday night.
