TYLER- Stanley's Famous Pit Bar-B-Q--- a Tyler staple for more than 50 years.
And still, bringing in the lunch rush.

Owner and "Pit Master" Nick Pencis and his family run this rib joint.
Pencis says, "We're really, really proud of the food."
But, Stanley's was actually started by this man-- J.D. Stanley.
Pencis tells us, after having to work Christmas Day and miss out on time with the family, Stanley quit the oil business and made ribs his everyday job.
And, judging by the long lines, it's still working.
Lane Westbrook says, "I know good food. I know good quality. And, I know a good deal when I see it."
Ron Russell says, "They put so much meat on it, and most places you don't get that much."
Laura McClendon says, "It's one of the best places I've ever eaten."
Texas Monthly Magazine gave Stanley's the title-- "Best Pork Ribs in Texas", along with the 2003 & 2008 50 Best BBQ Joints in Texas.
Not to mention other local awards.
Pencis says, the way to prepare them is unique.
He says, "Our ribs are based off a memphis dry rub with a Texas spin on it. We like to refer to them as rib-flavored candy."
And people just can't get enough.
Westbrook says, "My Cardiologist wouldn't like it if I ate here everyday."
Reporter says, "But you would?"
Lane says, "Oh I would. Sure I love it."
