DALLAS (AP) - In a new book scheduled to come out after Tuesday's election, Texas Gov. Rick Perry says America has become the type of nation that colonists fought against more than 200 years ago.
In excerpts available online, Perry says Americans are in a fight to "retake the reins of our government from a Washington establishment that has abused our trust." He calls the fight "a battle for the soul of America."
Although he has said many similar comment on the campaign trail, the release caught the Perry campaign by surprise. It was going to release excerpts after Tuesday's election.
Perry says the federal government "dictates what kinds of guns we can own, what kinds of prayers we are allowed to say" and "what doctor we can see." The book is called "Fed Up!: Our Fight to Save America from Washington."
