AS REPORTED IN THE NACOGDOCHES DAILY SENTINEL:
Nacogdoches County commissioners on Tuesday approved a resolution supporting the Texas Department of Transportation's proposed improvements to Highway 204 near Sacul's Southern Power biomass fuel plant.
The improvements would include, but not be limited to: construction of turning, acceleration and deceleration lanes; installation of warning lights and appropriate signage; reduction of speed limit from the current posting of 70 miles per hour; and the construction of improved shoulders, Nacogdoches County Commissioner Judge Joe English said.
The highway department will do the work, and the county will be responsible for 10 percent of the right-of-way should the road be widened, he said.
