The great disconnect

The dust is still settling after the election last week. And it looks like the problems that Dems didn't see that cause them to take what the president called a "shellacking" are still there.

George Will made the point on one of the Sunday shows that the administration and those in power still don't understand the misconnection of a great deal of the American people and the government.

The White House still thinks somehow they are the good guy in all this, and the simple problem is that we did all these good things and the people are angry because they don't understand how good we and what we did are.

The president made that point on 60 minutes last night, when he said the Republicans painted him as some big government liberal.

Really? His defense is still there was so much we had to do, so fast that perhaps we overwhelmed some with what we had to do and how fast we had to do it.

i don't buy that. Those who live in that bubble still don't feel the disenfranchisement that a lot of people feel. And that all was amplified with what New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg just said. He sniffed at the newly elected people in to the United States House saying, "I bet none of them even has a passport or know where chine is."

That is about as condescending as it gets. How dare the great unwashed send these backwoods hicks up here to deal with our great minds.

It will be interesting in January to see what some of these so-called non-deserving people have to say.
