SAN ANTONIO (AP) - San Antonio's police chief says four officers
shot while serving a warrant are expected to recover, including one
still in surgery after taking a bullet beneath his protective
William McManus said Thursday the officer most seriously wounded
during the drug search likely faces a long recovery but is expected
to be survive.
The shooting happened when an 11-member SWAT team approached a
house in a blue-collar San Antonio neighborhood. McManus said he
counted 14 bullets shot through front door after the officers were
ambushed with gunfire from an assault rifle.
Police identified the suspect as William Carroll. McManus said
the 29-year-old will be charged with four counts of attempted
