AS REPORTED IN THE NACOGDOCHES DAILY SENTINEL:
Nacogdoches County Hospital District board members heard various reports and approved the purchase of a new piece of property during their regular board meeting Tuesday.
The property hospital administrators will purchase is located at 611 Tejas St., and Tim Hayward, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital chief executive officer, hopes to close on the building soon.
"We are going to purchase the property for $135,000, and we will close in December, or sooner if you approve," he told board members.
Board members were set to vote on the purchase at last month's board meeting, but Hayward was still in the process of negotiating with the owner until recently.
The highlights of the recent June 30, 2010, year-end audit report and June 30, 2009, year-end retirement plan audit were presented to board members by Jane Ann Bridges, chief financial officer at Memorial. The 2010 audit results were unqualified, which means it was a clean audit opinion, Bridges explained.
"One year, it's a feast, and the other, it's a famine, and this year it happened to be a feast," she said. "We will work to not have a year of famine after a year of feast."
