intruder shot dead after he breaks front window and unlock's door
Houston---A homeowner fatally shot an acquaintance on Thursday morning who tried to break into his west Houston home after being thrown out, authorities said.
The visitor was at a home in the 12800 block of Westleigh for the Thanksgiving holiday, said Houston Police Department spokesman Kese Smith.
Around 2 a.m., the man allegedly became belligerent and assaulted the homeowner, which led to a struggle, Smith said. The homeowner then removed the man and locked the door, Smith said.
The man stood outside yelling and tried to re-enter the home, Smith said. After the homeowner repeatedly asked him to leave, the visitor allegedly broke a front-door window and reached inside to unlock the door.
