One of the hottest holiday toys is the brainchild of a company based Minnesota.
Stores nationwide are selling out of Squinkies, squishy pencil topper toys enclosed in plastic bubbles.
They're made by Blip Toys, a 16-employee company based in Minnetonka.
"It caught on," Blip President Bill Nichols said. "It took off like lightning in a bubble."
There are hundreds of characters with a thousand more being added soon, including a boys collection in the spring.
"We've found that boys have been going into the girls' isles and buying the Squinkies," Nichols said.
They are aimed at kids that are 4 to 14 years old.
Commercials for the trendy toy are even showing up on YouTube.
Part of the popularity of Squinkies are their price - $10 for a 16-piece bubble pack.
Nichols says that Squinkies will be available in 52 countries next spring.
