According to the Dallas Morning News, a Dallas police officer has been fired after allegedly putting his gun to the head of a man who was urinating in public. He is also accused of double-dipping on his while on and off duty as an officer.
Senior Corporal Mike Jones has denied all allegations. "He says he thinks he's being punished more harshly than officers who have committed more serious offenses," the paper said. Jones was fired last Friday.
An internal investigation found Jones reported working off-duty jobs at the same time he was doing other police work. Jones also allegedly worked an off-duty job within 24 hours of calling in sick.
The incident involving brazing a gun near the head of a man happened in July 2009 when Jones found the man urinating on a wall outside an apartment building.
