Tony Romo pops the question

to CW reporter girlfriend Candice Crawford

DALLAS - Thursday night, at a swanky Dallas restaurant, Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo asked, girlfriend of little more than a year, Candice Crawford, to be his wife.

The couple was celebrating her 24th birthday with her family at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant Five Sixty, when he popped the question with this square-radiant-cut, 8-carat yellow diamond ring... estimated to be worth around $500,000.

But it wasn't too long ago when romo, who had been dating singer Jessica Simpson, decided to end their year and a half relationship on ...you guessed it... her 29th birthday.

But no worries for Simpson, she recently gotten engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson, November the 11th.

Now Crawford is well know for being Miss Missouri back in 2008, and she's the sister of well-known actor Chace Crawford, who stars on the CW's hit TV show Gossip Girl.

Some say his gig opened up the doors at the CW, for newly graduated Candice, who works as a sports reporter at "The 33 CW".. in Dallas.

Crawford has been named a Top 10 Finalist for D Magazine's, 10 Most Beautiful Women in Dallas.

Today, her Facebook page, flooded with support, of her and Romo's engagement, though no wedding date has yet been set.
