ATLANTA - According to the Associated Press--
The winter storm that moved up the East Coast this weekend has caused thousands of flight cancellations and stranded countless holiday travelers.
Airlines expect more flights will be scrubbed Monday morning, as blizzard warnings stretch from New Jersey to
Maine. But the airlines are already working to rebook passengers and are considering adding flights.
Delta has canceled more than 850 flights so far, but a spokesman says the airline is "aiming to resume normal operations" by Monday afternoon, if not Tuesday morning. It's not only been the heavy snow that's forced the cancellations.
A spokesman for American Airlines says gusting wind makes it difficult to de-ice planes.
