On the heels of what many Nacogdoches retailers are describing as "a great holiday season," the day after Christmas was a continuation of that positive trend, according to local store managers.ww
And while the day after Christmas used to be considered a good day for returns, Sunday was an example of "the gift-card world" in which we live, according to Marilyn Phillips, manager for JC Penney in Nacogdoches
"With gift cards, you're giving people the gift of getting what they want," Phillips said, "especially with the younger generation today.
"Our gift card sales were up this year, and we had a tremendous amount turned in yesterday (Sunday)," she said. "It was a world of difference compared to what we used to call ‘the master day of returns.'"
