Web surfers may have to pay for certain sites soon
NEW YORK - A new survey shows that almost two-thrids of all Internet users have had to pay for access to websites that are usually free. These include video, news and even tools like spreadsheets.
The Pew Internet and American Life Project survey shows that many web surfers pay for at least one of these online sites. However, the survey also shows that paying for online content is nothing new.
Typically, a user spends around $10 a month on average downloading sites from the web.
