It was a story you saw first on KETK, and now, it has gotten more complex.
A Jacksonville High School teacher resigns over inappropriate photos posted by someone else online, and now, we know who.
Teacher Krystal Looney resigned from her job at Jacksonville High after racy photos of her were posted on Facebook.
Looney Taught English at Jacksonville High School, and also coached the Jacksonville College cheerleading team.
She removed a cheerleader, Autumn Green, from the team, and Green got angry.
“It was spur of the moment, and I realize it was petty,” Green told us. “And I feel really, really bad about that.”
Green told KETK that Looney had been in a relationship with a married member of the team, Jerry Thornburg. A second source named him as well. Green says that Looney had sent two semi-nude photos to him, and he passed them onto her saying, “you might have some fun with these.”
She then posted them on Facebook.
"I did not allude to, ask her to, tell her to,” Thornburg told us. “The only thing I said was, the entire thing I said was, I think you'll enjoy these more than I would."
We asked Thornburg if there had been an affair.
“I can’t answer that question,” he said. “I had to quit the squad and quit the school because of the harassment from Krystal. I was trying to fix things with my family life.”
Some have claimed Thornburg stole the photos, but he says that’s not true.
“No comment on that.”
The Texas Education Agency says, it will only become an issue for them if a complaint is filed.
“She’s clear,” DeEtta Culbertson of the TEA said. “She has her certificate and there’s no blot on her certificate. But again, depending on whether it’s reported or not.”
Looney’s mother Janna is also a teacher at Jacksonville High in the Special Education Department.
Her father Stephen Looney is Chairman of the Cherokee County Republican Party.
