AS REPORTED IN THE NACOGDOCHES DAILY SENTINEL:
People who believe they can get away with a simple license suspension if they refuse to submit to a police Breathalyzer test need to think again.
Beginning at 5 p.m. today and running through 5 p.m. Sunday, highway patrol troopers, Nacogdoches police officers and Nacogdoches County sheriff's deputies will be out on the streets in full force, looking specifically for those who might be driving impaired, Nacogdoches County Attorney John Fleming said.
"The officer will ask for either a breath or blood sample, depending on what he believes is impairing the driver," Nacogdoches Police Department Lt. Dan Taravella said. "If he believes narcotics are in the system, he will request a blood search warrant from a judge."
