Wide receivers coach is out
IRVING, Texas (AP) - Ray Sherman isn't returning as receivers
coach for the Dallas Cowboys.
Sherman's contract was through the 2010 season.
While the Cowboys didn't announce the decision Monday, Sherman
confirmed to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and the Dallas Morning
News that his contract will not be renewed. He has been an NFL
assistant 23 seasons, the last four in Dallas.
Jason Garrett, who went 5-3 as interim coach after Wade Phillips
was fired, was picked last week as the new head coach. Sherman also
interviewed for the job.
