TYLER- It's been several weeks since Congress passed a $700 billion bank bail-out plan and the funds are just now being dispersed.
But many are wondering what those bailed-out banking institutions are doing to help their cardholders.
On Monday, KETK spoke with a representative from one of the biggest banks in the country to see what's going on with that bailout money. New York-based Chase Bank is one of many banks that are getting help from the $700 billion bailout package.
One banking official said on Monday, "We're just starting to get the money, so we're not sure what we're going to do with it yet. That's really the answer."
In addition to Chase Bank, KETK spoke off-camera with representatives from Austin Bank and Southside Bank in Tyler. Both said they are not comfortable commenting on the bail-out plan at this time.
