LUFKIN - The City of Lufkin Municipal Court holds several thousand outstanding arrest warrants and, on Friday, March 04, the Lufkin City Marshal and Officers from the Lufkin Police Department will conduct a Warrant Sweep to serve as many of these warrants as possible.
Although Municipal traffic or city ordinance violation warrants are the focus of the warrant sweep, the officers will serve any outstanding arrest warrant.
Persons who have an outstanding warrant are urged to contact Lufkin Municipal Court prior to the Warrant Sweep to voluntarily clear the warrant and avoid the inconvenience and embarrassment of arrest at home or at work, in front of family, friends, or co-workers.
“Anyone voluntarily appearing at Lufkin Municipal Court to resolve their warrant WILL NOT be arrested”, said Lufkin City Marshal Brian Smith. Persons with an outstanding warrant should contact the Court as soon as possible because contact with a police officer away from the court will result in the arrest of wanted persons.
All fines can be addressed in-person, by mail, by telephone, or online. Contact Lufkin Municipal Court personnel for details or assistance concerning warrants or payment of fines.
