JACKSONVILLE — Lon Morris College in Jacksonville has been there since 1854, making it the oldest two-year college in Texas. Wednesday afternoon, several Lon Morris College employees came to this building on campus to meet with the school's president, Dr. Miles McCall.
Officials say the Dr. McCall set up the meeting to discuss the school's financial situation.
Several anonymous Lon Morris employees tell us they never got their last paycheck, and Dr. McCall said in a statement Tuesday that more paychecks could be delayed in the future.
We talked with employees as they were coming out of the meeting. One says, "I've worked here for 17 years and Lon Morris is the best place I've ever worked."
Most of the employees stayed tight-lipped, but seemed to be satisfied.
Students tell us they're not getting refund checks and are confused as to what is going on. They wanted to talk with us but Lon Morris officials told us students could get in trouble if they spoke with us.
Officials still say they cannot talk on the matter.
