TYLER-City and county officials all over East Texas have been in storm preparation these past few days and on Wednesday they were making final preparations.
From filling up sand trucks to stocking up on orange street cones, the City of Tyler along with other East Texas cities are prepared for what happens.
If road conditions get bad a good rule of thumb to remember if you plan on driving anywhere Thursday is the higher a structure is off the ground, like over-passes and bridges, the sooner it will freeze.
If it does freeze, below are the places to pay close attention too.
-U.S. 69 and U.S. 271 at Interstate 20
-highway 64 and Highway 110 at Interstate 20
In Tyler, below are the places to pay close attention to.
-5th Street west of Beckham
-Gentry Parkway east of Broadway
-Beckham at Gentry
We also spoke to Smith County officials Wednesday and they told us if we do experience some snow and ice, they are not equipped to salt or sand any county roads. So if you are someone who lives out on one of those county roads, you will need to be especially careful.
