Houston — Houston police say a suspect has been charged with murder in the shooting at a Houston apartment complex that killed an 11-year-old boy sleeping in a bedroom and injured two others.
Police have charged 32-year-old Gboweh George, who is accused by investigators of firing a shotgun several times around 2 a.m. Wednesday into an apartment where the boy was sleeping.
Houston police spokesman Victor Senties says Rodney Palmer died at the scene.
Palmer's 9-year-old brother and the boys' 19-year-old aunt were injured in the shooting.
Police said six to eight people were inside the apartment.
The 9-year-old boy is in stable condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital. The aunt was treated and released.
Police believe a possible car break-in earlier at the apartment complex led to the shooting.
