I will get right to the point.
How naive am I? When our news partner, KTBB's Garth Maier posed this question for our morning news audience, I literally stopped and had a moment.
The talkback question of the day was- should people who have Lone Star Cards- you know,
the taxpayer provided benefits that people use for assistance- be able to use them out of state.
In other words, vacations, casinos, sundries, fun little things when they travel.
I immediately went into a state of burn and was aghast that this was possible.
This is paid for by Texans' who are with their tax dollars helping other Texans out at very difficulty times.
This is crazy. Now, don't get me wrong. I have nothing against helping out those who really need the help.
But, i have a big problem with using my tax money to go and fund part of your out of state experience, whatever that is. This needs to be stopped immediately and with today's technology it can.
This makes about as much sense as the United States government sending money to countries that hate us.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
