WASHINGTON — Washington newspaper "The Hill" is reporting that new Democratic National Committee head Debbie Wasserman Schultz is pushing for the screening of all gun sales - that's private ones too.
The proposed legislation could require all private, un-licensed gun sellers to go through a licensed dealer or law enforcement agency for background checks before completing a sale.
Under current law, licensed dealers have to perform the background checks everywhere - including gun shows. But private sellers with no license don't have to.
It's the so-called "gun-show-loophole."
Mack Woods, owner of "The Shootist Gun and Knife Shop" in Tyler says it's just another attack on second amendment rights.
A Democratic representative from New York is expected to introduce this bill when congress returns from spring recess.
We'd love to know your thoughts on gun sales and how this might affect you.
