EAST TEXAS — A few months ago, people may have been willing to pay whatever the price at any gas station. However, now that prices are up, people are taking the time to search for the lowest prices at the pump.
No one wants to drive around using more gas just to find the cheaper gas. Now, if you have a smart phone, you can let those lower prices come to you by downloading gas saving apps like gasbuddy, igasup, or gashog.
Prices on the apps range from nothing to $2.99, but many drivers say it's a small price to pay to find the right station.
Once downloaded, the apps showed us the closest gas stations in the area and, more importantly, the cheapest.
The gasbuddy app, which experts say is the most popular gas app right now, lists gas prices within a few miles of each other.
